Immutech mech concept

Raw model prior to posing, designed for 'Follow The Camera'.

Human flip-up mask and human clothing allow for somewhat of a societal integration, however, these guys are designed for much more than just surveillance.

Inspired by Robopocalypse and Boston Dynamics' PETMAN Camp test robot.

Follow The Camera

Another quick teaser concept based on my screenplay Follow The Camera. (And more to come in the upcoming winter release of the 'Nothin But Mech Vol2' book for charity!)

 Follow The Camera

Turning the found-footage concept on its ear, an unthinkable attack on San Francisco sets off a mystery that's unravelled by two heroins following various types of media that catch it — telling the story from multiple perspectives that add up to a plot bigger than anyone realizes.

It is a race against the clock before they will be used as a scapegoat for all of IMMUTECH’s problems. A company that will do anything to get their latest product to market.  One with unprecedented autonomy.

Gipsy Danger

Some great Gipsy Danger shots. Working on this guy was incredibly liberating. The scale of both Jeagers + Kaiju was great fun + a challenging sell. I felt like I had one foot in the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion, clambering all over this guy like an ant with my digital camera, ever chipping away at it.
The true heros of this film are the texture artists and the effects TD's who's water + rain dynamic sims really helped sell the massive scale.

I'd just flown in to Soho, London from Amsterdam. I had no appointments. I was on a cold-call mission. Glenngary style. A3 Portfolio under my arm. I walked in off the street into MPC. No joke. Danny Boyle, Mark Tildesley and Andrew Morely had me in a slick glass board room, waiting. In came a scroll. Andrew unfolded a gigantic industrial-sized blueprint. Its seemed to unroll forever, bounding down the table. I hoped I could figure out what the hell it was before it came to a halt. 'This is Icarus. It's 2km long and we need to see it up to 5 feet close at any given point. Can you make it?'

Icarus ships from Sunshine (2006). I got to model supervise and design many aspects of these ships alongside Danny Boyle and Mark Tildesley.

Very fond memories at 3 Mills Studios.

Immutech Robotics

Early teaser screengrab of my security + pacification robot based off my screenplay 'Follow The Camera'. Also published in the upcoming 'Nothin But Mech - Vol2' art book for charity! Somewhat inspired by the Afghan scenes in Robopocalypse + Boston Dynamic's clever + very scary humanoid bipeds. More soon...

Pacific Rim

I worked on Gipsy Danger for the ILM pitch test with John Knoll and Frank Gravatt, then left for Europe. I got an elated call a month later, we landed the film and I had the honour to design and build on Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka. Being a long time Eva fan, this was an absolute dream.
